Hydrophilic Balance, also called oil measuring apparatus(OMA®), China’s first patented product used for oil film measurement jointly developed by TRIOA and Baosteel Group, is used for measuring milligrams per square meter of DOS oil, ATBC oil, DOS-A oil and BSO oil coated on the surface of a plate. These oils have hydrophilic polar radicals, and can spread to form a certain amount of single monomolecular films on the water surface. By utilizing such characteristic of the oils, the instrument transfers the oil on the surface of the plate to the clean water surface and calculates the milligram weight of the oil volume on the unit surface of the plate by measuring the area of the monomolecular films of the oil.
